Hi, my name is Stuart Gregory and I'm part of the Leadership Team at Church on the Corner.
I was born in Sheffield and apart from 3 years when I studied at Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, I have lived here all my life. It was whilst I was in Newcastle that I asked Jesus into my live and became a Christian. I was 20 years old at the time. Within a few weeks in 1973, I was baptised in water at the Elim Church there.
I finished college with a teaching qualification and came home to Sheffield, where I started attending the Elim Church at Lee Croft (behind Sheffield's Anglican cathedral), and it was there I met my wife, Christine. In October 1979 we moved to Church on the Corner and have been worshipping here ever since.
Over the years I have had various roles within the church, but am currently a Deacon and the Treasurer. We are a welcoming, multicultural, family orientated and Christ centred church.
Hello! My name is Christine Gregory, I am married to Stuart and we have three grown up children and a grandson. I'm originally from Blackpool and have lived and worked in Sheffield since I was 18. I was brought up by loving, Christian parents but made my own choice to follow Jesus as an 11 year old, a decision that has matured over the years and which I have never regretted.
I was a founder member at Church on the Corner, alongside Stuart. We both felt it was God's calling on our lived and I have been pleased to serve here in many roles over the years. I love to praise God; I play the keyboard and oversee the worship team at present.
My main role as a deacon is to look after catering. We like to fellowship in church with food, from tea and biscuits each first Sunday of the month, to harvest meals, Christmas parties and summer barbecues! Our community outreach involves an over 50's lunch club each Friday which I co-ordinate.
Please make yourself known, I am very friendly and like to talk!
